Phyllis Hyman was in this class for over 10 years! Other graduates include Wendy O'Williams of the Plasmatics, George Wurzbach, Robby Benson, Karla Divito, Kirsten Thien and many more.

Ann Ruckert currently meets with six songwriters during these sessions. She has purposely chosen the meeting time in the middle of the day to attract only truly professional artists.

The workshop members do the following:

Complete their tunes that need final editing.
Look for the prosody between lyrics and music.
Ensure their songs have the proper word on the proper note.
Refine their songwriting technique and their performance.

The beauty of this workshop is the great commeraderie between the artists. When one performs, the other members of the group might play music in the band, sing backup vocals, or show up to the gig with their friends.

Many different genres of music are represented, but each artist has one thing in common: their solid knowledge of the technical aspects of music and songwriting and a deep potential for advancement.

In order to maintain the cohesiveness and harmony of the group, new members are only admitted when they have the approval of all existing members.
